Some of our favorite projects are ranch projects.

Some of our favorite projects are Ranch Projects. This example, a luxurious custom ranch residence in rural Mason County, Texas, resulted in an opportunity to create a low-maintenance, xeriscape garden. Taking a phased approach, Eden Garden Design has worked for several years to restore the Hill Country plant diversity and aesthetic to the property, as well as introduce Texas-sourced hardscape elements that help establish the authentic sense of place. Custom cut lueders limestone walkways link the exterior spaces.

New plantings of native grass and wildflower meadows now surround the home, blending into the overall landscape beyond. An outdoor pea gravel courtyard, framed by sculptural native plants, is animated by a custom board-formed concrete water feature. A variety of colorful seasonal blooms attract hummingbirds and butterflies. A small, low-maintenance native buffalo grass lawn provides a thoughtful play area for children. Low-voltage, LED lighting provides nighttime drama and navigation.

Collaborators: Chaz Architects designed the home, Brian Long Custom Homes did the construction, and Paula Ables did the Interior Design.
